			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-family: 'Georgia','serif'">It&#8217;s good to be back to school following the unprecedented spell of poor weather recently.  The text-a-parent facility which we used to inform everyone that school was open on Tuesday12th is a service we will be providing in the future.  It is very important that all mobile numbers on file are accurate and up to date.</span><span style="font-family: 'Georgia','serif'">There will be an additional school closure on Thursday 11th next at 12:00 noon to facilitate a staff training seminar.  All pupils will be allowed home at mid-day.</span><font face="Calibri"> </font></p>

<p align="justify"><font color="#0000ff"><strong><font color="#ff00ff">**</font>The mobile farm visited the school yard on Wednesday Nov. 18th.  All children from infants to Rang 2 got a chance to learn about the animals on show: calves; sheep; goats; a pig; turkey; hen &amp; chickens; duck &amp; ducklings &amp; rabbits. All children had great fun as everyone got to hold a chick, duck or rabbit.</strong></font></p>

<p align="justify"><font color="#0000ff">All classes have been concentrating on road safety week October 12th&#8211;16th and all children know the &#8220;Safe Cross Code. </font><font color="#0000ff">On the 15th October Garda Fenlon visited and spoke to 3rd &amp; 4th classes in the senior school about road safety. They did activities on travel and the enviroment. </font></p>
<p align="justify"><font color="#0000ff"><font color="#800000">W.O.W</font> </font><font color="#800000">(Walk on Wednesdays) is continuing for this year again. We are delighted to see so many children walking on Wednesdays and we hope to extend this to other days.  </font></p>
<p align="justify"><font color="#00ff00"><strong><font color="#00ff00">Green School Action</font> Day:</strong> On Thursday October 15th (An Taise) Yvonne Kelly &amp; Ciara Hanrahan facilitated a day of action games relating to the &#8220;Travel Theme&#8221; for our 4th green flag. On Friday 16th October </font><font color="#00ff00">Ella Ryan (enviornmental officer) talked to some classes about climate change.  </font></p>

Your child has brought home a handout outlining what precautions we have in place.  Older children were asked to bring tissues and hand sanitizers to school to use throughout the day.  The school is supplying wipes for desks and other work surfaces. The importance of proper hand washing is also stressed with children. </span><span style="font-family: 'Georgia','serif'">We are using the <strong><span style="color: red">&#8216;Catch It - Bin It - Kill It&#8217;</span></strong> method as recommended by the HSE. </span><font face="Calibri"> We ask that all parents and guardians encourage good hygiene and be assured that the schools will follow HSE advice if / when the need arises. </font></p>
